As a valued member of the distribution team, the primary objective for this position is to safely and accurately navigate powered industrial trucks (PIT) to aid in picking and returning inventory to and from shelving racks at heights up to 40 ft. You will also be responsible for safely transporting inventory from one point to another using the vital powered industrial truck(s). This position requires physical fitness to continuously reach for product followed by lifting, pushing, pulling and stacking product on pallets at a maximum of 40 feet. Essential Duties/Responsibilities include using appropriate PIT to unload trailers on receiving dock in a safe manner, using radio frequency (RF) equipment to fill full-case orders, memorizing and applying phonetic alphabet to accurately use voice directed picking system, using sight recognition and matching of alpha and numeric listings to ensure accurate inventory and order placement, replenishing full-cases to picking shelves, conducting product moves as directed, accurately following all pallet-layer configurations, ensuring pallets are safely/properly stacked to full capacity, using fall protection/safety harnesses in compliance with company and OSHA regulations, performing consistent counting of product and pallets, continuously lifting (including overhead), pushing, pulling, reaching and stacking full cases (up to 50 lbs) while maintaining productivity levels at or above standard, and being committed to the team effort. Other duties as requested. Equipment used includes turret stock picker, cherry picker/order picker, runner, reach truck, RC truck, pallet jack. Required skills/knowledge/experience: High school diploma or equivalent, at least 18 years of age, skilled in site recognition/matching of numeric and alpha groupings, able to comprehend simple instructions, legible writing skills, basic math skills, flexibility with work hours, basic computer experience, ability to stand and walk for 8-10 hours, follow all safety practices and policies, maintain appropriate PIT certifications, adequate computer or prior RF unit experience. Preferred: PIT experience, RF experience, distribution experience.
