Job Description

A leading construction and industrial services company is seeking an HR Manager to join their team in Dallas, Texas. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence company culture, recruitment strategy, and employee engagement within a dynamic, field-based environment. The ideal candidate is an HR professional with recruiting experience in the construction industry who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on role.

Reporting to the HR Director, this position supports leaders and employees across multiple business units by driving HR strategy, managing core programs, and ensuring alignment with company goals. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to management on employee relations, performance, compliance, and workforce planning — while maintaining a people-first approach that promotes collaboration, communication, and trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership to establish HR objectives that align with company and operational priorities.
  • Provide expert guidance on policy interpretation, employment law, and compliance standards.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for both salaried and hourly roles; develop workforce plans and attend industry or university career fairs.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, and recognition initiatives that strengthen company culture.
  • Oversee HR programs related to wage and hour compliance, FMLA, ADA, and EEO.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and develop training on diversity, leadership, and workplace conduct.
  • Manage HRIS/HCM data accuracy, payroll coordination, and employee status changes.
  • Administer health and retirement benefits, leave programs, and respond to employee inquiries.
  • Partner with Risk Management and Safety teams on injury management and workers’ compensation cases.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR processes, documentation, and systems.
  • Assist with employee investigations, workplace concerns, and confidential issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required.
  • 8+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, including significant recruiting and HR business partner responsibilities within the construction or industrial sectors.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and talent acquisition best practices.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • High integrity with the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Organized, adaptable, and capable of balancing multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced with HRIS/HCM systems.
