Job Summary:

The Industrial Welder – Specialty Welding is a highly skilled welder specializing in complex welding techniques and materials. They are responsible for joining metal components together using advanced GMAW, FCAW, GTAW and SAW welding procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex welding operations using specialized welding techniques.
  • Weld cast iron, cast steel, mild steel and stainless steel.
  • Safely operate welding positioners on a routine basis.
  • Prepare metal components for Remove material using arc gouging process.
  • welding, including cleaning and surface preparation.
  • Position and align components for welding.
  • Operate specialized welding equipment.
  • Inspect welds for quality and defects.
  • Maintain welding equipment and supplies.
  • Follow safety procedures and regulations.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial welding.
  • Proven track record of performing complex welding tasks.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of specialty welding techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications.
  • Ability to operate specialized welding equipment accurately.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to inspect welds for quality and defects.
  • Ability to train and mentor others.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Location and Travel:

  • Lakeland, FL

Work Environment:

  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary (Monday to Sunday with some overnight work) and overtime is frequently required.
  • This position is safety sensitive in nature, which means employees perform duties so fraught with risks of injury to self or others, or environmental injury, that even a momentary lapse of concentration or attention can have disastrous consequences.
  • The working environment is often in harsh elements (hot/humid and/or cold temperatures, rain, etc.) Industrial environments often have exposure to hazardous chemicals, moving heavy equipment, and other safety-sensitive hazards/risks. Must always be alert and able to safely perform the essential duties of the job without risking harm to oneself or others.

Walk: Frequently be able to walk distances through fields.

Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Often use hands and arms for handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials. Require steady arm and hand control during stationary tasks. Need quick hand and arm movements for grasping, manipulating, and assembling objects.

Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl: People in this position frequently need to stoop, kneel crouch or crawl.

See: Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Carry, weight, Lift: The person in this position occasionally be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.

Exposure to work: Considerable time will be spent in processing environments both in and outdoors. Environments can be loud, dusty, hot, or cold.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
