Under the general supervision of Dr. Barry Stripp, the incumbent will provide technical support related to the preparation of laboratory specimens in the area of lung injury and regeneration. The Research Associate I will also perform specialized duties related to the husbandry of experimental animals, such as the observation of animals for abnormalities, perform animal care, room environmental monitoring and documentation, etc. as required.
This role is designed to be 100% onsite, giving you the opportunity to collaborate closely with your team.
The Research Associate I performs a variety of routine experimental protocols and procedures to support the objectives of one or more laboratory research projects in a specific area of research. The RA I member assists in general laboratory activities, including maintenance of reagents and stocking of supplies, files and monitors documents, and keeps accurate and detailed records of experiments and results. The incumbent assists in the operation of specialized equipment and machinery and observes safety standards and procedures. The Research Associate I will be able to perform routine cellular, micro- and molecular biology procedures including, but not limited to: DNA/RNA and protein extraction; PCR; Western and Northern blot; cell culture; tissue and cellular staining; rodent animal husbandry. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
